All science classes use hands-on, inquiry-based learning for students to practice the steps of the scientific methods. Courses are lab based and provide opportunities for short-term labs, and long-term inquiry projects. As part of increasing students scientific literacy, mathematics is integrated into science course work, including basic statistics and data analysis. Students use a variety of resources including textbooks, the library, community partners, and technology to explore science content.
Course rotations include Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Three years of science is required for graduation. After completing at least 3 years of high school level science, students should be well-prepared to participate successfully in college level science coursework.
